Wilmette Blotter: Dog Left Without Food, Youths Cited for Cannabis

Criminal Trespass

An ex-employee of the Wilmette Golf Course, 3900 Fairway Dr., has repeatedly entered the property to take pictures of excavating trucks working in the area without the property owner’s permission. Police advised the ex-employee not to return to the property. 

Cannabis Activity

Three youths were issued local ordinance citations for possession of cannabis, paraphernalia and some alcoholic beverages on Sept. 3 after police saw suspicious activity around the 300 block of Ridge Road. All three were turned over to their parents. 

Animal Neglect

A resident in the 3200 block of Sprucewood Ln. was issued a local ordinance citation for animal neglect after police discovered their dog had been let unattended in the back yard between Aug. 31 and Sept. 2. Police said there were no food and a bowl of dirty water for the dog when they responded. 

Fraud

A resident in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road reported that someone used her debit card and made unauthorized charges totaling some $120. 

Driving Violation

Luis M. Aceves, 39, of 8001 S. Keeler Ave., Chicago, was arrested Sept. 2 on felony charges for forgery and issued various traffic citations after police stopped him for driving with a defective muffler and suspended registration in the 400 block of Sheridan Road. Aceves was issued citations for forging a title registration, driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and having a defective muffler. 

Emilio Delgado, 42, of 4617 W. Mclean Ave., Chicago, was charged Sept. 1 with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Wilmette Avenue. Police also discovered that Delgado was wanted on two warrants.
