Wilmette Blotter: Earrings Stolen from Home

Residential burglary
A $250 pair of silver Tiffany earrings were stolen between 4 and 6:25 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 300 block of Central Avenue. A kitchen window had been broken with a large rock.

The window of a car was smashed and a purse was taken off the front seat between 2 and 3:38 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Wilmette Public Library. The owner's credit card was then fraudulently used to make a $906 purchase at Target in Evanston.
A cell phone face plate and charger valued at $37 were stolen from an unlocked car between 1:20 and 1:45 p.m. Jan. 6 at Carson's Furniture Gallery.

Fraud
A check for a closed account was used to pay for a dinner at Tsing Tao at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
Identity theft
A credit card belonging to a resident of the 2100 block of Birchwood Avenue was fraudulently used to purchase a $450 camera from newegg.com and the billing address was changed to a residence in Buffalo Grove.
