Wilmette Blotter: Eggs Thrown at Home

DUI

Barbara J. Rakley, 57, of Evanston was arrested for DUI drugs at 5:12 p.m. March 27 in the 600 block of Green Bay Road. She was also charged with improper lane usage.

Thomas J. Cunningham, 46, of Chicago was arrested for DUI and driving on a suspended license at 2:23 a.m. March 16 in the 700 block of Hunter Road. He was also charged with failing to signal when required and disobeying a traffic device.

Criminal damage to property

Four eggs were thrown at a home in the 3400 block of Riverside Drive between 9 and 9:30 p.m. March 24.

A panel of a garage door was forced inward and stuck in the upright position between 10 a.m. March 17 and 2 p.m. March 18 at a home in the 300 block of Hibbard Road.

The passenger side mirror of a Mazda CX-9 SUV was broken between 7 p.m. March 16 and 7:53 a.m. March 17 in the driveway of a home in the 2000 block of Beechwood Avenue.

A Goodyear garden hose was slashed between March 12 and March 21 in the backyard of a home in the 200 block of Charles Place.

Police found gang graffiti was painted on a brick wall at Daniels Auto Body Shop March 21.

Burglary from a motor vehicle

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked car between 6:45 p.m. March 21 and 7:55 a.m. March 22 in the 1500 block of Spencer Avenue. The stolen credit cards were used to make purchases at a 7-Eleven and a gas station.

Approximately $2 worth of coins was stolen from a glove box of an unlocked car between 11:30 p.m. March 20 and 6:06 a.m. March 21 in the 1600 block of Wilmette Avenue.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Jason C. Betancourt, 33, was arrested for possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for a traffic violation at 7:37 p.m. March 20 in the 800 block of Green Bay Road. According to police, he admitted that numerous bottles of shampoo and conditioner in his car were stolen for Jewel and used for a return scam and that straws in his car were used for snorting heroin.

Theft

A $200 iPod was stolen from a student at Highcrest School between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. March 21.

Driving on a suspended license

Angel Guzman-Zavala, 35, of Chicago was arrested for driving on a suspended license at 6:05 p.m. March 20 in the 500 block of Green Bay Road.

Identity theft

Someone fraudulently filed a tax return using the information of a resident of the 800 block of Kin Court between in an attempt to receive her tax return money.
