Wilmette Blotter: Four cars and one home burglarized

The following incidents were reported between Oct. 18 and 24, according to Wilmette police.

Residential burglary

A kitchen window was pried open and jewelry was stolen between 7 a.m. Oct. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at a home in the 800 block of Michigan Ave.

A Bianchi Giro racing bicycle estimated at $1,800 was stolen between around 3:15 and 3:45 p.m. Oct. 20 from a home garage in the 300 block of Greenleaf Avenue.

UPS boxes containing wedding gifts were stolen between around 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 300 block of Third St. They contained wine glasses, tumblers, hats, a linen shirt, an electric wine opener, two serving plates etched with an image of a platypus and other items valued at approximately $600.

Approximately $250 was stolen from a wallet between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 22 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 23 at .

A 10-year-old Schwinn cruiser bike was stolen from the back of a home between 2 and around 2:15 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 200 block of Catalpa Ave.

A bicycle was stolen between 2 p.m. and around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Warming House in .

Theft from a motor vehicle

Gasoline was stolen from a 2004 Audi All Road between around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 22 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in the 2200 block of Kenilworth Ave.

The front passenger window of a Hyundai Tucson was smashed and a CD player and Sirius vehicle tuner and interface box were stolen between 2 and 5 a.m. Oct. 24 in the 300 block of Skokie Court.

An amber warning strobe valued at approximately $100 was stolen from an Illinois Department of Transportation vehicle between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22 and 7 a.m. Oct. 24 in the parking garage at 444 Skokie Blvd.

A laptop, a US passport and Rosetta Stone Portuguese language study CD were stolen from the back seat of a car around 6:45 a.m. Oct. 18 at .

Counterfeit money

A counterfeit $50 bill was used between around 1:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Oct. 24 at .

Fraud

Fraudulent Bank of America checks totaling $21,931.88 were processed on the account of a resident of the 900 block of Chestnut Ave. between Sept. 30 and Oct. 11.

A resident of the 1500 Block of Sheridan Road reported that her wallet had been stolen between noon and around 8:45 p.m. Oct. 21 and that her credit and debit cards were used fraudulently to make purchases totaling $7,126.

A wallet was stolen from a purse and the credit cards were used fraudulently. The victim did not know where it had been stolen. The crime was reported around 8:45 p.m. Oct. 22.

Retail theft

A man stole approximately $1,265 worth of goods, including several cartons of baby formula at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 20 from .
