Wilmette Blotter: Man Charged With Trespassing at Park

The following incidents were reported between May 11 and May 17, according to Wilmette police.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
A 33-year-old Wilmette man was arrested May 17 on a charge of trespassing at the Lakeview Center in . A park employee notified police that the man had come to the center despite being banned from any parks or buildings of the Wilmette Park District. The trespasser was later found at the corner of 12th Street and Central Avenue and admitted to entering the center. 

DUI
A 28-year-old Harvey resident was arrested at the corner of Central Avenue and Sheridan Road on May 16 at 1:57 a.m. and charged with several violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, driving without a valid license and disobeying a stop sign. A breath test revealed that the man had a blood alcohol content of  .180.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Several CTA train cars were vandalized with graffiti between 10 p.m. May 13 and 4 a.m. May 16

Roughly 12 pieces of property from the 500-700 block of Leamington Avenue and in the 3400 block of Wilmette Avenue were damaged after 1 a.m. May 10. Police also think a damaged globe lamp post top in the 500 block of LeClaire Avenue was among the incidents. The majority of the items broken were lamp posts, but a bird house along Wilmette Avenue was also damaged. A Wilmette Avenue resident told police that his children heard glass shattering around 1:30 a.m.

The window of a work van was shattered in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue on May 15. The owner told police that he saw a man standing near the vehicle and then flee into a car nearby.

AUTO BURGLARY
An unlocked car in the 1100 block of Isabella Street was entered and loose change was taken on May 16.

SPEEDING
A 31-year-old Chicago resident was arrested on charges of driving 11-14 mph above the posted speed limit and not having a valid license after police stopped the driver in the 1300 bock of Lake Avenue on May 14.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A home in the 400 block of Brookside Drive was entered and items were stolen on May 14.

An American Girl Doll was taken from a home in the 700 block of Locust Road between April 30 and May 11. The residence is unoccupied as it is set to be demolished within the next two months. A gate leading to the backyard of the residence was found unlatched and the rear sliding door was ajar.

DOMESTIC BATTERY
An 18-year-old resident in the 1200 block of Richmond Lane was arrested after she kicked her mother during an argument over money at 4:20 p.m. May 12. The girl was charged with domestic battery.

THEFT
An employee in an office building in the 400 block of Skokie Boulevard reported that $60 in cash and her wallet were stolen from her desk on May 11. Two of the credit cards in her wallet were used shortly afterward to make unauthorized charges.

A Northbrook woman's wallet was stolen from Panera Bread, 1199 Wilmette Ave.,  on May 9 around 6 p.m. The Louis Vuitton wallet contained a few credit cards, $20 in cash and other papers. After the theft, several transactions at a gasoline station in Winnetka and automated teller machines were attempted.

A 26-year-old Chicago resident was taken to the Wilmette police station on May 10 after he was charged with a traffic offense by the Northbrook authorities. The man had a warrant out over a theft charge.

A Marie Murphy student reported that his iPhone 4 was stolen from his backpack around 3:30 p.m May 10.
