Wilmette Blotter: Theft, Tenant, Property Manager Dispute Leads to Battery

Burglary to Auto

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lavergne Ave. between Aug. 24 and 25. The loss was estimated at $90. 

Bike Theft

A locked bike was stolen from the bike rack at the Metra Station, 722 Green Bay Road, between 6:10 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. on Aug. 23. The loss was estimated at $450. 

An unlocked bike left in front of a garage in the 900 block of Linden was stolen between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 25. The loss was estimated at $100. 

Theft

Several fraudulent charges were made to a woman’s credit card on Aug. 22, after she left her wallet at The Corner Bakery, 3232 Lake Ave. The woman contacted the store manager but the wallet could not be located. 

Battery

A tenant in the 600 block of Lamon Avenue grabbed the property manager during a dispute over unpaid rent on Aug. 23. 

Criminal Damage

A resident n the 1100 block of Sheridan Road reported that someone pushed over an antique lion statue, which damaged the handrail and an antique concrete flower vase on Aug. 24. The damage was estimated at $5,000. 

A window on the Westside of Highcrest Middle School, 569 Hunter Rd., was smashed between Aug. 24 and Aug. 26 The damage was estimated at $500. 

The glass of a front door storm window on a home in the 700 block of Lavergne Avenue was reported shattered on Aug. 21 by a postal employee. The damage was estimated at $500. 

An resident in the 300 block of Skokie Court reported that his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend punctured the rear driver’s side tire and damaged the and the side mirrors between 2:20 p.m. and 2:26 p.m. on Aug. 26.

Cement stones were thrown threw the rear window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Lawler Ave., between Aug. 24 and 25. The same vehicle was later shot at numerous times with a paint ball gun. 

Driving Violations

Shane Scott, 29, of 2425 Randall Ln., Arlington Heights, was arrested for driving on a suspended license, improper lane usage and having a defective muffler flowing a atraffic stop in the 100 block of Lake Avenue on Aug. 24. 

Karla Montanez-Lopez, 33, of 3855 N. Parkway #1A, Northbrook, was charged Aug. 25 with driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a traffic stop. 

Juan Alberto Rucal, 30, of 4312 S. Sacramento Ave., Chicago, was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license following a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Lake Avenue on Aug. 25. 

Andrew Hudson, 31, of 8302 Crawford Ave., Skokie, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and speeding following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Lake Avenue on at 4 p.m. Aug. 23. Hudson was later arrested again after he retried his vehicle from North Shore Towing when police observed him driving.
