Wilmette Friday Blotter: Auto Burglaries; Identity Theft

The following are incidents from April 4-6 police reports.

AUTO BURGLARY

Three cars in Centennial Park's lot were burglarized between 10 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. April 4. The vehicles' side windows were smashed and purses were taken.

Overnight between April 3 and April 4, unlocked cars parked in residential driveways in the 200 block of Sunset Drive and in the 1100 block of Manor Drive had miscellaneous items taken.

 CRIMINAL DAMAGE

“El” cars were graffitied overnight between April 3 and April 4 at the Linden train station near the corner of Fourth Street and Linden Avenue.

 ARREST

A 54-year-old Wilmette resident was stopped for traffic violations in the 1300 block of Wilmette Avenue and later found to have a revoked license. The driver was arrested by police and later released on bond.

A 47-year-old Wilmette resident was arrest at 8:49 a.m. at the corner of Big Tree and Glenview roads on April 4 and charged with driving on a suspended license.

A 46-year-old Wilmette resident stopped April 5 in the 3100 block of Glenview Road and charged with driving with a suspended license.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Chase bank in Barrington reported at 1:50 p.m. April 5 that an unknown person attempted to withdraw money from a Wilmette residents account. The offender had previously cashed a check at a Chase bank in Schaumburg earlier that day. The account belonged to a resident in the 700 block of Ridge Road.

A resident in the 200 block of Valley View Drive reported being a victim of identity theft.
