Wilmette PD Arrests Two Alleged Drug Dealers

arrested two 18-year-olds Jan. 27, after police searched an Evanston home where they were allegedly dealing drugs.

Police Chief Brian King said that Wilmette police were looking into reports of dealers selling drugs to youth in Wilmette and other New Trier Township communities, when they received a tip that cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana and the prescription anti-anxiety drug alprazolam were being used and sold at 2508 Thayer St. in Evanston.

Investigators put the home under surveillance and allegedly observed drug transactions taking place, leading them to ask the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for a search warrant. Coordinating with , Wilmette Police searched the home at 8:36 p.m. Friday and found 79.6 grams of marijuana, three ecstasy pills, 186 alprazolam pills, 23 Ritalin pills, 3.7 grams of cocaine and 72 nitrous oxide cylinders in Patrick E. Whitington’s bedroom. A small amount of money was also confiscated. King said this was not considered to be a high risk arrest.

Whitington and his friend, Kyle P. Lucki, also of Evanston, were both arrested. When questioned, Lucki allegedly said that the he intended to sell the marijuana and Whitington allegedly said that all the other drugs were his, and that he intended to sell the ecstasy, cocaine and alprazolam. Whitington was charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, one felony count of possession and one misdemeanor count of possession and issued a $30,000 bond. Lucki was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and issued a $10,000 recognizance bond.

King encouraged Wilmette residents to call the police with any information that could help them in drug investigations.

“We take drug dealing individuals in the community very, very seriously and we follow up on every lead,” he said.
