Wilmette Police Blotter: Theft, Telephone Harassment

The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft 

A resident in the 800 block of Lawler reported that she is missing cash and jewelry from her residence, according to Wilmette Police reports. It was reported missing on Jan. 16.

A Wilmette resident reported that he had locked his bike to the bike rack at the Metra station and went downtown on Jan. 18. Police reports state that when he returned, he found that his bike and the lock were gone.

Officers report that they responded to 511 Washington for a cab fare dispute. Officers spoke with the cab driver, who said that he picked up 4 men in Evanston on Jan. 19 and they exited and then fled his cab at 511 Washington. He thinks that he recognized 2 of the subjects from a ride last week. 

Theft of Services

A 303 cab driver came to the Wilmette Police Department to report that two female subjects had fled his cab without paying the fare on Jan. 18, police reports state. He picked them up in Glencoe, then picked up another subject in Winnetka. 

Disorderly Conduct

An officer responded to the Park District offices at 1200 Wilmette St. for a disorderly conduct report on Jan. 18, Wilmette Police  reports state. The manager reported that an unknown offender(s) left flyers in the brochure rack. The flyers contained a photo of a Park District employee and some offensive comments. 

Theft

A victim reported that a subject(s) tampered with the locks of a display case at Collector's Corner (901 Ridge Rd.) on Jan. 17, allowing entry to the case and removal of jewelry, Wilmette Police reports state

Theft

Wilmette Police reports state that a resident reported that his bike and lock were taken from the bike rack at the Metra Station, located at 722 Green Bay Rd, on Jan. 18.  

Theft

A victim reported that someone removed a green Veolia garbage can from the front of residence on the 1100 block of Elmwood on Jan. 18, Wilmette Police reports state. 

Suspicious Incident

A victim reported that after returning from vacation, she discovered that various items of jewelry had been removed from her home, wich is on the 1000 block of Hibbard, according to Wilmette Police reports. It is presumed to have gone missing between Nov. 23 and Jan. 14. 

Telephone Harassment

A resident reported that her daughter has been receiving hang-up and obscene phone calls on her cell phone from a business in Michigan which serves the developmentally disabled, according to Wilmette Police reports. The calls were made on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18. Contact was made with the business and a possible offender was located. 

Criminal Trespass

A subject previously given trespass notice for a residential property in the 500 block of 5th St. was observed by resident in violation on Jan. 21, according to Wilmette Police Department reports. Officers were unable to locate the subject. 

Criminal Trespass

A resident who lives above the Women's Club at 930 Greenleaf Ave. found an unwanted subject in the kitchen of the Women's Club making a sandwich on Jan. 21, according to Wilmette Police reports. He appears to be homeless and left at their request.
