Wilmette Police Blotter: Possession of Cannabis, D.U.I.

Driving Under the Influence

Kevin Riefke, 46, of Wilmette is being charged with driving under the influence, according to Wilmette Police reports. Rifke was pulled over for a traffic stop in the 800 block of 12th street for traffic violations on Jan. 19. He was then asked to perform a sobriety test, where he was subsequently arrested for a D.U.I., the report states. He was later released on bond. 

Possession of Cannabis

Brendan W. Cardenas, 20, of Skokie received a local ordinance citation for possession of cannabis less than 10 mg, according to to Wilmette Police reports. Cardenas was pulled over on Jan. 18 on the 100 block of Skokie Ave. for a minor moving violation in a traffic stop, where the officers discovered cannabis in the vehicle, the report states. 

Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia 

A juvenile male, 15, of Winnetka received a local ordinance citation for being in possession of a glass smoking pipe and a small quantity of cannabis, according to Wilmette Police reports. The juvenile was the passenger in a car that was pulled over for a minor traffic violation on the 2300 block of Lake St., Wilmette Police reports state. The subject was transported to the station, where he was released to his father. 

Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Possession of False ID

Michael McConnell, 19, of Nashport Ohio received a local ordinance citation for possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of fake ID and Matthew Schley, 20, of Aanesville Ohio received a local ordinace citation for possession of alcohol by a minor, according to Wilmette Police reports. The report states that an officer conducted a street stop near 275 Green Bay Rd. on Jan. 19 on the subjects and determined that they had purchased alcohol with a false i.d. 

Suspended Driver's License

Jose L. Gutierrez, 35, of Chicago is being charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, according to Wilmette Police reports. Gutierrez was pulled over on the 1000 block of Lake St. on Jan. 19 for a minor traffic violation and was determined to be driving with a suspended driver's license. He was arrested, transported to the station, processed and released on the bond, the report states.
