Wilmette Police Blotter: Samsonite Bag Stolen from Vehicle, Bike Thefts

Bag Stolen from Vehicle

A Samsonite gym bag valued at $75 was stolen from a car parked at Carson Pirie Scott, 3200 Lake Avenue on July 28. The back driver side window was smashed out to gain entry and the loss is estimated at $400.

Bike Theft

A bike was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 12000 block of Gregory Avenue  between the overnight hours of July 26 and 27. Two unlocked vehicles within the garage were entered.

An unlocked bike was stolen while parked at Highcrest School, 569 Hunter Road, between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on July 24. 

Coins Stolen from Vehicle

Some coins were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Gregory Avenue between the overnight hours of July 26 and 27. 

iPhone Stolen from Pool

An iPhone was stolen from a pool back at Centennial Pool, 2300 Old Glenview Rd., on July 25. 

DUI 

William Breen, 40, of 1934 Lake Street, Wilmette, was charged July 25 with a felony driving under the influence of alcohol and various traffic violations following a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Lake Street. 

Eric L. Rose, 23, of 3210 Harrison, Evanston, was charged July 28 with driving under the influence and various traffic offences following a traffic stop between the 100 and 200 block of Lawndale Street. 

Warrant Arrest

Hernandez Walther, 22, of 2512 Walter Zimny Dr., Posen, was charged July 24 on a warrant out of Cook County for obstructing. He was also charged wit himproper turn at intersection, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and driving on a suspended license. He was issued an Aug. 13 court date in Skokie. 

Fraud

An elderly resident in the 1300 block of Central Avenue received a call on July 26 that he had won a large sum of money. The caller offered to pick him up and drive him to the bank, the resident alerted the police instead. 

Bike Moved

A bike was moved but not taken from an unlocked garage in the 1200 block of Isabella Avenue between the overnight hours of July 26 and 27.
