Wilmette Police Blotter: Underage Drinking Party, Counterfeit Bill

Underage Drinking

Candace Mirza, 52, 1707 Lake Ave., was issued a village parental-responsibility citation April 27 for consumption of alcohol by minors on a vacant property belonging to her, according to police reports.  Several teenagers were charged with consumption of alcohol by minors and one teen was also cited for interfering with an officer.

Taewook Kim, 44, 334 W. Edward St., Lombard, was charged April 29 with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was later released on bond.

Jerzy Krywult, 57, 4915 W. Belle Plaine, Chicago, was charged April 26 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content level over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and improper turn. He was released on bond.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

A tote containing credit cards and cash was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked at Edens Plaza, 3232 Lake Ave on April 22. No estimated value was provided on the report.

Fraud

The owner of Millen’s Hardware, 1219 Wilmette Ave., reported receiving a counterfeit $10 bill on April 28.

A resident reported three unauthorized withdrawals from his disabled sister’s bank account between November 23 and April 16. The bank is investigating the transactions and will credit the withdrawn amounts to the account.

Driving Violations

Floriberto Montoya, 34, 610 Leamington Ave., was charged April 26 with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop. He was released after posting bond.

Fernando Lopez, 26, 3025 S. St. Louis, Chicago, was charged April 24 with driving without a valid drivers license. He was later released on bond.

It’s a Dog Eat Dog World

A dog owner reported April 24 that her dog was bitten by another dog near the intersection of 10th Street and Westerfield Drive. The other dog owner would not exchange information and left the area.
