Wilmette Police Blotter: Village Sign, Traffic Counter, Car Parts Stolen

The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

A village sign with the words “Burmeister Lot”, valued at $1,500 was stolen from 722 11th Street between July 1 and 13.

A traffic counter valued at $1,000 was stolen from the Village of Wilmette, 1133 Ridge Rd., between July 8 and 13. The counter had been set up for south bound traffic on Ridge Road.

About $1,000 worth of car parts left in a car port in the 2900 block of Old Glenview Rd., were reported stolen July 23. The parts in clued a stereo system, car radiator and serpentine belt.

A trailer hitch valued at $110 was stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Maple Avenue between the overnight hours of July 18 and 19.

Bike Theft

An unlocked bike valued at $400 was reported stolen from the Metra Station, 722 Green Bay Road, on July 16. The victim says the stolen bike may have been listed on Craigslist on July 18.

Warrant Arrest

Fred Martin, 47, of 2860 Somerset, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., was arrested July 17 after police responded to Thornwood Park for a suspicious vehicle parked at the park. Martin was found to be wanted on two warrants.

Domestic Battery/ Child Endangerment

Two adult sisters were both arrested July 23 for domestic battery after a fight broke out between the two in the 700 block of Lavergne Avenue, according to police.

Police say they discovered one of the sisters was intoxicated while attempting to breastfeed her 2-year-old child when the fight started.

Rtiffany McCahill, 18, of 3933 N. Hamilton, Chicago, was charged with domestic battery.

Bernadette McCahill, of 729 Lavergne Ave., was charged with domestic battery and with endangering the life and health of a child.

Both were taken into Wilmette Police Custody, the children were turned over to a brother and the Department of Children and Family Services were notified.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Vivian Bor, 20, of 4911 Hull St., Skokie, was charged July 19 with aggravated DUI, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over .08, driving while license suspended, driving while registration suspended, driving without insurance and possession of alcohol by a minor. She was stopped following a traffic stop at Isabella and Park for traffic violations.

Bradly Ray Jones, 21, of 616 Glenshire Rd., Glenview, was arrested July 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lake Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, improper lane usage, speeding and illegal transportation of open alcohol.

The passenger in the vehicle, Pedro N. Cambron, 19, of 9078 Barberry Ln., Des Plaines, was also charged July 18 with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of fake identification.
