Wilmette Police Searching for Armed Robber

The Citgo/7-11 at 500 Skokie Blvd was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

Wilmette police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station Saturday night. No one was injured.

According to police, a man with a handgun entered the Citgo/7-11 at 500 Skokie Blvd. at 9:17 p.m. He stole cash and about half a dozen cartons of cigarettes before leaving on foot.

There were no customers in the store at the time. A surveillance camera captured the image above of the suspect.

The Wilmette Police Department is investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on Saturday 11/30/13 at 9:17pm at the Ctigo/ 7-11, at 500 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette.   The offender, described as a 30 year old African American male, armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun, entered the store and immediately confronted the clerk.  The offender removed USC from the register and 6-8 cartons of Newport Cigarettes.   He fled on foot east bound from the store. 

The Wilmette Police Department aided by a K-9 unit from the Evanston Police Department searched the surrounding neighborhood for the offender with negative results.

No one was injured in the robbery and there were no customers in the store at the time.
