Candidate Drops Out of Park Board Race

While Robin Baugher has withdrawn from the race, her name will still appear on the April 5 ballot.

Park Board candidate, and former commissioner, Robin Baugher told reporters Sunday that she has withdrawn from the race and will keep her position on the Lakefront Commission.

Baugher told the Wilmette Life that while her decision comes after the deadline for printing ballots, she's still "putting the word out there, and hopefully news outlets and newspapers will spread it as well."

Having previously served on the Park Board in 1987 and 1991, Baugher said it was time to give new candidates a place while she will continue to focus on lakefront development.

"I am a fan of term limits. I decided I didn't like the possibility that if I were elected, a fresh face might not be elected," she told Wilmette Life.
