Final Village Leaf Collection Begins Today

Depending on your collection day, you should get your leaf piles out to the curb between today and Friday.

Get those leaves out to the curb quickly, because the Village of Wilmette won't be taking them away much longer.

Today, tomorrow and Friday mark the last three days that the village will be providing leaf collection services.

Since Oct. 15, residents who live on residential side streets have been asked to rake leaves to the curb so the village could collect them. Residents on larger, arterial streets have been asked to place the leaf piles on the parkway behind the curb.

Final leaf collection services will be divided up as follows:

  • For Wilmette residents living in zone one, tomorrow is your final leaf collection day.
  • For residents living in zones two and three, tomorrow will be the final day.
  • For residents living in zones four and five, Friday will be your last chance for leaf pickup.

"In order to be collected, leaves must be in a loose condition, not in bags or containers," the village website says.
