Kenilworth Starts Pavement Improvement Program

The project is expected to be completed by mid-summer.

The Village of Kenilworth is resurfacing four streets Tuesday and will start preliminary curb replacement Wednesday as part of Kenilworth’s 2012 Pavement Improvement Program.

Roads are expected to be accessible to local traffic throughout the construction process and at least one lane will be open during working hours and both lanes will be open in the evening. If lane closures are required, the village will provide residents with at least 24 hours notice.

“Work will first focus on replacing damaged and deteriorated curbs before moving on to road resurfacing,” according to a village newsletter. 

The Village's contractor, Arrow Road Construction, will be grinding the asphalt and resurfacing the following streets:

  • Warwick Road: Resurfacing from Kenilworth Avenue to Cumberland Avenue 
  • Sterling Road: Resurfacing from Green Bay Road to Park Drive  
  • Roger Avenue: Resurfacing from Exmoor Road to Green Bay Road  
  • Maclean Avenue: Resurfacing from Ridge Road to Brier Street  

Preliminary curb replacement is expected to start Wednesday on Sterling Road and move to Roger Avenue and other curbs in the village that have been identified. The village plans to remove curbs Wednesday and install new curbs Thursday.

Road grinding work is planned for late June, after Memorial Day festivities and Joseph Sears School graduation have concluded. The project is expected to be completed by mid-summer.
