North Shore Residents React to Legalization of Concealed Carry

Residents from Wilmette, Northbrook and Glenview are taking to Facebook to comment on concealed carry in Illinois.

Illinois became the last state in the country yesterday to legalize concealed carry after the House and Senate voted to override Gov. Pat Quinn's amendatory veto of concealed carry regulations, according to the Chicago Tribune.

North Shore residents sounded off on the issue on Wilmette, Northbrook and Glenview Facebook pages:

“It's a good law!” John FIscher wrote on Facebook.

“I think it will lead to an increase in young men seeking a testosterone buzz...." hey man wanna see my new gun ? "...Ooops, he pulled the trigger.....not good !!” Renee E. Etienne wrote.

“We all have the right to choose a gun as self defense,” Peter Acs wrote.

Brooke Vah, who says she’s a 15-year Glenview resident that’s had two family members murdered in the village, writes that she’s pleased the law is being legalized.

“As a mother of two and a working husband, I am alone a lot with my children and I feel much safer knowing i have the right to protect my children,” Vah wrote.
