Park District Approves Thornwood Ice Rink

The board of commissioners gave the project the green light during a special meeting Monday evening.

's Board of Commissioners unanimously voted Monday to spend $37,000 to $39,000 to create an ice rink at , TribLocal reports.

The decision faced significant backlash from residents, , during the special board meeting. Several residents have accused the Park District officials of not hosting enough opportunities for public discussion.

“There’s a belief that there are more children in that area. . . It is centrally located and they will come and use it," said Commissioner Darrell Graham, according to TribLocal.
