UPDATED: Parking Ban Lifted, Commuter Sidewalks to be Cleared

An update from the Village of Wilmette on snow clearing operations for Thursday and Friday.

From the Village of Wilmette as of 11: 30 a.m. Feb. 3:

All streets and alleys have been plowed. Crews will continue to work through the day to restore streets to full width.

The parking ban is no longer in effect and cars may be parked along Village streets.

The regular refuse and recycling schedule remains in place for Thursday and Friday. To facilitate collection, please make sure toters are dug out from the snow to provide access for the Veolia trucks.

Crews will be working today to haul snow from school and commuter walking routes and from intersections to improve visibility. Due to reduced sightlines at intersections please be extra cautious when walking or driving through intersections.

At this time there is no schedule for clearing residential sidewalks that are not school or commuter routes.

As with all snow events, the Village does not remove snow from driveway and alley aprons. There are approximately 8,000 driveways throughout the community and the Village does not have the resources to plow snow from the aprons.

Thank you for your patience as the Village continues to clear and haul snow throughout the community.
