Wilmette is expanding the Youth Services Grant Program to consider proposals from nonprofit agencies serving the village’s senior citizens as well a youth, according to a press release.
The grant supports local organizations focused on meeting the social, emotional or safety needs of youth or seniors in Wilmette through both support and prevention programs. The applications deadline is May 10.
While the program’s scope is expanding to include seniors, the money budgeted for the program will remain the same at $20,000; each grant winner could receive a maximum of $3,000, Chicago Tribune reported.
The village has not yet received applications from senior groups but has reached out to them and groups such as the North Shore Senior Center and Meals on Wheels have shown interest, Chicago Tribune reported.
Organizations interested in applying for the grants should contact John Prejzner at 847-853-7502, or email@example.com.
