Wilmette Golf Club to Close July 29 for Major Renovations

Wilmette Park District is closing the public golf course for a $2 million renovation—the largest ever at Wilmette Golf Club.

Wilmette Golf Club will close July 29 for a $2 million renovation that Wilmette Park District officials say will reduce flood problems and provide new challenges for golfers, Chicago Tribune reported.

The renovations will be the largest ever for Wilmette Golf Club and is funded by park district reserves and about 25 percent will be generated from a user surcharge. Officials say there will be no increase to park district taxes and the course is slated to reopen in May or June 2014, Chicago Tribune reported.
