Wilmette Seeks Input on Lakefront Master Plan

Wilmette Park District will host two public hearings to share possible long-range renovations at Gillson and Langdon parks and beaches.

Wilmette residents will soon get to voice their opinions on long-range plans for the renovation of the and parks and beaches. 

plans to host two public hearings to share the three possibilities for the long-range Lakefront Master Plan. The hearings could begin the week of Sept. 17 and the week of Oct. 8, according to Steve Wilson, executive director of Wilmette Park District

“We look forward to bringing those to the public,” Wilson said. “We want to make ourselves as accessible as possible, to get as many people out to provide us with their thoughts on the three alternatives.”

Smith Group JJR, a Chicago design firm, is helping the park district with surveying and gathering recommendations for the renovation. 

. The last series of renovations occurred in Gillson during the 1990s.

The next Park District Board Meeting will be held on September 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the .
