Preventing Foreclosures; Avoiding Predatory Loans

Wilmette is not immune to home foreclosures.  In just the first half of 2011, the Village experienced 51 foeclosures, states Jasmine Brewer, director of housing counseling at the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs, who will speak on May 22. Her talk will focus on fair lending red flags that everyone should be aware of.  Participants will walk away with a basic understanding of the lending industry and the tatics that get people into predatory and unfair lending loans.
