"Why Doesn't Mine Look Like That? New Plants, Promise and Reality"

The North Shore Garden Club invites you to attend the program “Why Doesn’t Mine Look Like That? New Plants, Promise and Reality” presented by Ed Lyon, Director of the Allen Centennial Gardens at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  If your common complaint is why your plant doesn’t look like the one in the garden catalog, you are not alone!  It may not be because you did something wrong or were a poor gardener – come and see why! Ed’s talk will be illustrated with pictures of real plants photographed in both the Midwest and other areas of the country contrasted with their marketing images. Ed is a past employee of the Chicago Botanic Garden, teaches and lectures across the country, and writes for garden magazines including a column in Chicagoland Gardening.  Please join us on Tuesday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. at the Chicago Botanic Garden in the auditorium.  Payment for this lecture is $10 and due at the door. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED!  Please RSVP to Harriet Klein:  847-433-1488 or harrietk8@gmail.com.  Parking at the garden is free with your reservation.  Coffee and dessert will be served.
