High School Swimmer Gets Taco Bell Speedo Wish

Ryan Klarner, a Palatine swimmer and diver, reached out to Taco Bell last month and requested a customized Speedo with 'think outside the buns' printed on it. The company is reportedly granting his wish.

A swimmer and diver from Fremd High School in Palatine is getting his wish for a Speedo with the phrase 'think outside the buns' on it from his favorite fast-food restaurant, Taco Bell, Yahoo News Canda reports.

Ryan Klarner requested through the company's Facebook page he be sent the swimwear, according to Yahoo News Canada, due to the fact he is a big fan of their food, and eats Taco Bell five to seven times per week.

Tom Petersen, director of community relations for Township High School District 211 said athletes cannot accept gifts worth more than $75, and are not allowed to wear swimwear other than what is provided by the district during competitions.

There's no word on how much that Speedo is valued at.

But nothing would stop Klarner from practicing in his new Speedo, Petersen said.

"We have a board policy that prohibits advertising, but if this young man chose to wear this swimwear for practice, it would be no different than any other clothing that contains a business or corporate brand on it," Petersen said.
