New Trier Juniors Head to National Debate Tournament

Noah Quinn and Zach Peltz recently won the Illinois High School Association state public forum debate championship.

Two New Trier High School juniors will be heading to the ‘World Series’ of high school debating next month after winning the Illinois High School Association public forum debate championship, Chicago Tribune reported.

Friends since eighth grade, Noah Quinn and Zach Peltz say they had to debate whether the U.S. should require its citizens to have health insurance, their team ended up arguing that it’s beneficial, but if they had to argue the other way, the pair said they were prepared, too. Why? Both of their fathers are attorneys and say they come from households where arguing and debating issues was a central part, Chicago Tribune reported.
