NTHS Ranked No. 12 in Illinois By U.S. News

New Trier High School has been ranked the No. 12 school in Illinois by a U.S. News and World Report. This is up one place from last year, when it was ranked No. 13.

New Trier High School has been named the No. 12 school in Illinois on a list of the best public high schools in the country in 2013 from U.S. News and World Report.

The rankings are based on data collected from more than 21,000 public U.S. high schools from 49 states and the District of Columbia. Schools are evaluated based on overall student performance on state tests, Advance PLacement tests and International Baccalaureate exams. The ranking also takes into account how well students educate black, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students, a press release from U.S. News said.

The rankings were created to demonstrate how well high schools educate all of their students and prepare them for college-level work, according to U.S. News.
