Six New Trier Gymnasts to Compete at State

Six New Trier gymnasts will compete at this weekend's state gymnastics meet, which will be held at Palatine High School on Friday Feb. 15 and Saturday Feb. 16. 

• Taylor Kwok will compete in the vault portion of the competition. 
• Claire Egerter will compete in the vault, the uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise portions of the competition.
• Stephanie Steen will compete in the vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise portions. 
• Elana Benishay will compete in the vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise portions of the competition.
• Samantha Stoddart will compete in the uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise portions of the competition.
• Kerry Scafidi will compete in the uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise portions. 

"We've had pretty good practices this week," Jennifer Pistorius, Head Girls Gymnastics Coach at New Trier High School, said. "Hopefully if we can get our routines we've got a shot at third place."

Lyon's Township and Prarie Ridge Co-op are the two teams that could sweep the meet, Pistorius said.
