Eagles Retire Chris Wagner's Jersey

The Wilmette Eagles Football league honored the former player on Sept. 11.

The North Shore community continues to honor the memory of with the Wilmette Eagles retiring the former player's jersey, The Wilmette Beacon reports.

Wagner, a rising New Trier junior who , had played as "a star fullback for the 2008 Eagles heavyweights," according to the Beacon.

During a Sept. 11 ceremony before the Eagles' opening game against Deerfield, Wagner's former Eagles' coaches Dennis Amick Scott Wettersten, Jim Keene, Roy Kolstad, Mark McCaffrey, along with Jim Rome, current field director for the Eagles, formally retired his number: 38.
