CHICAGO, Illinois—April 11, 2012— Two Wilmette businesses, Lad & Lassie Shop, featuring style and quality clothes and accessories for Kids and Moms, andThe Runner's Edge, Wilmette’s running,and swim specialty store in partnership with The North Face, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, today announced that Dean Karnazes will come to Chicago to deliver a special presentation entitled” Life in Motion”. The family-friendly live presentation invites adventure fans and athletes to share in Dean’s incredible tales of endurance and his commitment to the fitness of America’s youth.
Dean Karnazes will share his incredible story of ultramarathoning throughout the world with Chicago families onMay 10, 2012. Life in Motion, presented by The Runner’s Edge, Lad & Lassie, and The North Face, Karnazes will offer an inspirational look into the world of an ultramarathoner and share his amazing journeys.
“Superhuman” is the best word to describe Dean Karnazes's feat of running 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days. Dubbed “The Ultramarathon Man” and ranked among TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Dean’s message to the world is, “Get off the couch, get healthy, hit the trails, and go the extra mile.” With that mantra in mind, and with a physiology adapted for endless running, he’s run 350 miles – nonstop—and completed ultramarathons across the world’s five great deserts: the Atacama, Gobi, Death Valley, Sahara, and Antarctic. In 2011, Dean brought fitness home to millions with his 3000-mile, 75-day, coast-to-coast Run Across America, televised onLive! with Regis and Kelly.
Attendees will get to hear the story first hand at Karnazes’s presentation, which will take place
at Highcrest Middle School- Wilmette,IL at 569 Illinois Road beginning at 7pm
Thursday May 10th. Life in Motion is a free event. Seating is limited. Obtaining your tickets
in advance is highly recommended. Walk-ins will be welcome if space allows that evening.
There are a limited number of tickets available on a first come first served basis. Tickets can be
