Maine South Falls To Loyola; Ends Football Season For Hawks

Postgame show commentators said Loyola started strong and never let up; Maine South failed to score a single point.

The football season ended for the Maine South Hawks Saturday after a bitter 35-0 defeat at the hands of Loyola Academy in Wilmette.

In a postgame commentary show produced by Loyola Academy commentators, they noted Loyola had the ball on offense a majority of the game.

The shutout was surprising for the Park Ridge school, which has performed strongly and won state in several of the preceding years.

Instead, Loyola will go on to face the winner of the Barrington vs. Stevenson High School game next week, and the winner of that game will play in the finals Nov. 30.
