North Shore Raiders in Second Place for Baseball Conference

The following information was provided by Tura Cottingham, the marketing and communications director for North Shore Country Day School.

The Raider baseball team is having a great season. We are in second place in the conference as of Monday, May 14. The Raiders have two conference games remaining, which are big games. The Raiders also open regional play this Wednesday at North Shore. Look for the boys to have an exciting finish.

Conference game highlights are as follows:
4/14/12 NS 4 U High 3: Senior Zach March stole home with 2 outs in the 9th inning to tie the game. Sophomore Chris McCarren drove in senior Matt Touhy with the winning run. The winning pitcher was Chris McCarren.

4/17/12 NS 13 Morgan Park Academy 3: Zach March went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs as the Raiders took care of the Warriors. Sophomore WIll Case was the winning pitcher.

5/3/12 NS 2 Northridge 1: Senior Jake Kann pitched 8 strong innings and scored the winning run on sophomore Ian Meyer's 2 out single in the 8th inning.

5/5/12 Latin 8 NS 0: The Raiders dropped game 1 of a double header. Matt Touhy had the only 2 hits for the Raiders.

5/5/12 NS 5 Latin 3: Will Case pitched 5 solid innings to get the victory. Matt Touhy's 2 run double in the 3rd winning was the key hit. Touhy also earned a save.

5/12/12 NS 5 Francis Parker 1: Chris McCarren pitched a solid game for the win. Zach March pitched the 7th inning to insure the win.

5/12/12 Francis Parker 12 NS 9: The Riaders had a tough game in game 2 of the double header. Ian Meyer had 5 hits on the day for the Raiders.
The Raiders have also had several non conference wins - 5-4 over LFA, 10-0 over Alden Hebron and 13-3 over Christian Liberty.

The Raiders head to U-High on 5/15 and the open Regional play on 5/16 at North Shore. The Raiders will play for the Regional Championship on 5/19 if they win on 5/16.

The Raiders also need to play Northridge Prep - time and date TBA.
