  • Why Go?: Village trustees will be discussing temporary use permits for several events and resolutions to transfer money to the General Fund. They will also be discussing issuing liquor licenses to The Big Black Dog Tavern and Grill, 1141 Central Ave., and , 1150 Central Ave.

  • Where: 1242 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Duo Controverso presents new and traditional klezmer music with Kurt Bjorling on clarinet, accompanied by Annette Bjorling playing the harp.  The concert is one of four Summer Festival events co-sponsored by the Library and YIVO, an international organization that works to promote and preserve Yiddish language and culture.

  • Where: 1200 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Grab the kids and be sure to make your way to downtown Wilmette for the second annual Summerfest,  July 13,  9 am to 5 pm  & July 14, 9 am  to 10 pm .This year, Summerfest will be bigger and better, with something for everyone – live music and entertainment, delightful children’s activities, fine artwork and crafts by local artists and super shopping deals at the sidewalk sale.  A Taste of Wilmette brings tempting, delicious food and drinks from local restaurants.  Meet your neighbors for some live music at the main stage and enjoy food and drinks at the beer/wine garden on Saturday from noon to 10 pm.
