  • Why Go?: Older children pair up with younger ones to share books, crafts and fun.  Both older and younger buddies must sign up each week to attend that week's program.  Older buddies should be entering grade 6 and up; younger buddies should be between 4 and 7 years.  Sign-up begins Monday mornings and continues until that week's program is full - call 847-256-6945.  Registration limited to Wilmette and Kenilworth residents.

  • Why Go?:This year, Summerfest will be bigger and better, with something for everyone – live music and entertainment, delightful children’s activities, fine artwork and crafts by local artists and super shopping deals at the sidewalk sale.  A Taste of Wilmette brings tempting, delicious food and drinks from local restaurants.  Meet your neighbors for some live music at the main stage and enjoy food and drinks at the beer/wine garden on Saturday from noon to 10 pm.

  • Why Go?: A Center for Oriental Medicine is a holistic healing center, specializing in acupuncture and herbal medicines. The acupuncturists at A Center for Oriental Medicine all have master's degrees in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and aim to put patients at ease in both their Asian-themed lobby and their treatment rooms.

  • Why Go?: Come up to the lab and see what's on the slab! It's The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), a screamingly funny, sinfully twisted salute to sci-fi, horror, B-movies and rock music. This weird and wonderful musical film phenomenon will make you shiver with antici...pation! This movie comes with a live cast!

  • Where: Michigan Ave & Washington Ave, Wilmette
  • Why Go?: The tour will be led by Terry Porter, retired Director of the Wilmette Park District and chair of the Lakefront Commission, and Kathy Hussey-Arntson, Museum Director. Learn about the history of Gillson Park and Wilmette Harbor, and the impact of Depression-era projects on the shoreline. The walking tour is free for Museum members and $5 for non-Museum members. Reservations are required by calling (847) 853-7666 or emailing museum@wilmette.com. Meeting location will be given upon registration.

  • Why Go?: As the Nazis begin their rise to power in Germany in the late 1920s, aspiring American writer Cliff Bradshaw travels to Berlin in search of inspiration. He happens upon English singer Sally Bowles at a seedy night club called the Kit Kat Klub, and they fall in love under the allure of the cabaret. As the Nazis grow stronger, their lives are thrown into disarray. This groundbreaking musical, with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, shocked audiences when it premiered,  revolutionized the musical theater.  Directed by Janet LouerMusical Direction by Aaron Benham PG-13recommended for ages 13 and up.

For these shows the Wilmette Theatre has partnered with Chicago Underground Comedy, which the Chicago Tribune called "one of the hottest shows in town" and Chicago Magazine raved, "the hippest, hottest stand-up showcase to emerge in years."
