The event is free and promises to provide participants with a wealth of knowledge that will provide them with a healthier home, lower utility bills, and a reduced carbon footprint.

The Forum is one in a long line of events planned by Temple Jeremiah’s Green Team, chaired by Barry Slotnick.

“Temple Jeremiah’s participation in the GreenFaith Certification Program has enabled our members to become more knowledgeable about the environmental impact each of us has on our community and how best to become even more sustainable as a congregation,” Slotnick said.

Since its participation in the GreenFaith program, Temple Jeremiah has reduced its environmental footprint in ways such as eliminating the use of paper and plastic dishware, encouraging members to shut off their car engines while waiting in religious school pick-up lines, and planting its very own vegetable garden on the property and donating the vegetables to the Northfield Food Pantry.

The GreenFaith program is designed to help churches, synagogues, and mosques earn recognition as environmental leaders by carrying out more than two dozen environmental activities over two years.
