Beth Hillel Members Give Back to Community

Congregants donated blood and bone marrow, stocked food pantries and visited nursing home residents.

On March 4 the Social Action Committee of  - Wilmette, under the direction of chair Jeff Roth, held its annual Social Action Sunday, a day of giving back to the community.

Congregants of all ages participated in many worthwhile projects. Some of these included preparing and delivering 300 meals to the Evanston Ecumenical Action Council, The Night Ministry - Chicago and Connections for the Homeless - Evanston and stocking a food pantry. Volunteers knit caps for Israeli soldiers and cancer patients. Other activities were a blood and a bone marrow drive, political advocacy letter writing and visitations to cheer residents at various nursing facilities.

Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah gratefully acknowledges the generous donations of food and packing supplies from Fresh Market in Wilmette, Fresh Farms in Wheeling, Northshore Bakery in Chicago, GFS Bakery, Trader Joe's, Costco and Whole Foods.
