Current Events and New Student Orientation This Week in Wilmette

Here's what you need to know this week in Wilmette.

Plan: While nobody wants to start planning for flu season already, the flu shot is now available for residents 18 and older at Village Hall. The fee has yet to be announced. More information is available here.

Plan: There are still slots available for Preschool, Full-Day Preschool, Lunch Bunch and Early Bird Babysitting with the Wilmette Parks District. More information is available here.

Plan: Are you new to District 39, or do you have a student entering 7th or 8th grade? The district is hosting multiple new student orientations this week. Don't be lost on the first day of school — find out more information here.  

Do: Love the opera, but dread making the trek into the city to see a show? Then you're in luck! The Wilmette Theater is now selling tickets for La Traviata, an opera from La Scalia. The special showing will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available online here

Do: Calling all newshounds! The Wilmette Library is hosting a Current Events roundtable on Monday at 10 a.m. Newcomers are welcome. More information is available here
