Opera and Frozen Yogurt This Week in Wilmette

It's shaping up to be a great week in Wilmette. Check out what you need to know here.

Know: The August 13 Village Hall Board meeting has been cancelled. The next meeting is set for August 27 at 7:30 p.m. More information is available here

Do: The Wilmette Parks District will be hosting Bopology, a rat pack/swing ensemble, on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Starlight Theater at the Wallace Bowl. More info is available here

Do: Love the opera, but dread making the trek into the city to see a show? Then you're in luck! The Wilmette Theater is now selling tickets for Don Carlo, an opera from La Scalia. The special showing will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The show is three hours and 54 minutes, with two intermissions, so make sure to stop at the snack bar beforehand. Tickets are $20 and are available online here

Do: Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with the Wilmette Public Library and the Park District's Stories in the Park event. This week's will be held at Vattmann park near the tennis court. In cases of rain or extreme heat, the storytime will take place in the library. This week's is Monday from 4 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. More information is available here

Do: The whole town is excited for the recent opening Cocomero, a new self-serve frozen yogurt store. Head downtown some time this week to sample one of the dozen flavors, and be sure to treat yourself at the toppings bar. Check out our earlier story on Cocomero here
