Trinity United Methodist Church
(847) 251-7333
The first Methodist church in Wilmette opened its doors in 1874. Growing from a membership of 23 to more than 800 by the late 1920s, Trinity United Methodist Church realized that they needed a larger house of worship and agreed to build the large Gothic cathedral that now stands on the corner of Lake and Wilmette avenues. Trinity United is home to several missions, including a medical mission that makes an annual trip to the African nation of Senegal.
