Vattmann Park
Named after one of the founding members of the Wilmette Park District, Vattmann Park is one of the community's oldest. Known as West Side Park at the time of its inception, residents changed its name later to honor Father Edward J. Vattmann. Father Vattmann was one of the four founders of the Wilmette Park District, serving on the town's first board of commisioners from 1908 through his death in 1919. Vattmann Park is a large open area with tennis courts and a kids' play area.
