Last Chance: D39 Kindergarten Orientation

Registration is open now at Central, Harper, McKenzie and Romona.

Kindergarten registration is currently underway at Wilmette School District 39 for children who live within the district’s boundaries and will turn five on or before Sept. 1. District 39 serves portions of Wilmette, Glenview and Winnetka. Registration packets can be picked up at Central, Harper, McKenzie and Romona. Each of the four elementary schools will hold kindergarten parent orientations from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17. On April 23, each school will hold a lottery to determine whether children will attend kindergarten in the morning or afternoon. Not sure where your child will go to school? District 39 Names New Central Principal

Becky Littmann had been serving as the school's interim principal.

Superintendent Dr. Raymond Lechner announced at the December District 39 meeting that Becky Littmann has been named the permanent principal for Central Elementary School. Littman has been serving as the school’s interim principal since July 2010. She joined District 39 in 1998 as a fifth grade teacher at Highcrest. Littman became assistant principal at McKenzie Elementary School in 2004 and added to her responsibilities in 2007, when she became assistant principal at Central. Before joining District 39, Littman held several teaching positions in Michigan and South Carolina.  “We are so pleased to have Becky at the helm of Central School," Lechner said. Meet Lori Naumowicz, Central's and McKenzie's New Asst. Principal

Naumowicz brings 15 years of experience in District 63 to Wilmette.
