Eric Lefkofsky, a Groupon co-founder and a resident of Glencoe, discussed the firing of the company's CEO and the hunt for a new one.
Groupon co-founder and Glencoe resident Eric Lefkofsky still has high hopes for the Chicago-based company, despite recent setbacks, including CEO Andrew Mason being fired last week, a Chicago Tribune article stated. Lefkofsky described the e-commerce website, which offers daily deals to its subscribers, as "inches away from greatness," despite losing money recently. Lefkoksy told the Tribune that he was looking forward to hiring a new CEO "who has experience dealing with the issues we're dealing with ... who has been there and done that." Many believed that Mason didn't have the right experience to handle the Internet company, which is unprofitable while still growing at a rapid pace. I'm a sucker for deal sites, apps and email lists. More than 1500 people purchased the first deal for the dining hotspot.
For the second time since January, Gilson's is offering $30 worth of food and drinks for $15 on Groupon. Customers have until midnight Monday to purchase the new deal. More than 1500 people bought the coupon the first time around.

Good for Groupon! Perhaps this is a good way to convince the gun sellers that they should accept some "common sense" gun laws in their repertoire. What is needed is more commercial pressure on the gun sellers of America that convinces them that most of the American people think that gun ownership of assault rifles is unnecessary.   more ›
