'Contagion' Sets Up To Film In Glencoe
Residents looking forward to spotting Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow on set this week.
Film crews and celebrities have descended on Glencoe as they prepare to film scenes from the upcoming movie Contagion. The action-thriller about the worldwide outbreak of a deadly disease and the international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the epidemic will begin filming Monday at the intersection of Woodlawn and Vernon Avenues. The movie stars Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne and Marion Cotillard and will be released in October 2011. This is not the first time director Steven Soderbergh will use the North Shore as a backdrop. Soderbergh filmed parts of Ocean's Twelve in Winnetka and Lake Forest.
