New Trier beat Glenbrook South 31 to 21 during Friday Night's game at Northfield.
The New Trier Trevians were behind 21-14 in the third quarter of Friday night's game against the Glenbrook South Titans, until Michael Thomas scored a tieing 3-yard touchdown just before the fourth, the Sun-Times reports. "It was a little frustrating earlier in the game when they kept completing passes for big gains on third down like that," New Trier linebacker Graham King told CSL Insider. "We just had to keep fighting. Good defenses can overcome things like that." After that, the Trevians just kept scoring — landing a 22-yard field goal with 7:37 on the clock and another two yard touch down with 1:33 remaining, according to the Sun-Times. Following a slow start, Glenbrook South defeats New Trier convincingly to start 2-0 in conference.
The Glenbrook South Titans were guaranteed for a slow start as they hosted the New Trier Trevians Friday night. Why? The Titans did not run a single offensive play in the first quarter. New Trier took the opening drive and went on a 17 play drive that ate up 10:16 and ended it in a field goal. The Titans fumbled the following kickoff and New Trier ran 20 plays in the first quarter compared to Glenbrook South's zero. "You have to give New Trier credit," GBS head coach Mike Noll said. "They were ready to play right away. Once we relaxed a bit, we played smarter and better." GBS settled down midway through the second quarter. After forcing the Trevians to go three-and-out, running back Kevin Schroeder exploded, on the second play of the drive…
