Wednesday Blotter: Kenilworth PD Releases Impaired Driving Crackdown Results
The final numbers are in for impaired driving arrests made during the heightened end of the year enforcement.
At the end of of 2010, law enforcement agencies throughout the state teamed up to arrest impaired drivers and to get more motorists to buckle up. Agencies executed the crackdowns during late-night hours, a time that statistics show more drunk drivers are on the road, especially during the height of the holiday season. During this crackdown the Kenilworth Police Department issued 88 traffic citations, made two impaired driving arrests, three drug arrests and one unlicensed driver arrest. These arrests were made possible with funding from IDOT's Division of Traffic Safety and the "You Drink & You Drive. You Lose" campaign.
