Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Deerfield) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston) saw President Barack Obama’s State of the Union through different eyes but came away with the same message Tuesday. Both north suburban lawmakers praised and ratified the President’s proposals to raise the minimum wage, stimulate job growth, implement gun control and more. They heard the same message but saw it differently. Protesters Criticize Dold’s Position On Jobs

More than 35 people ask Congressman to support Schakowsky's bill.

A group of more than 35 protesters gathered outside Rep. Robert Dold’s (R-Kenilworth) Manufacturers’ Roundtable to focus attention on the congressman's failure to support job growth and lack of accessibility to constituents Monday at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Organized by Moveon.org, the protesters thought Dold was holding a Town Hall meeting at the Lake Forest site. The event was an invitation-only discussion among local industrialists to discuss the use of exports to create jobs, according to Dold District Director Kelley Folino.  “(Rep.) Exports Spur Job Growth for Local Companies

With the economy struggling, the markets extremely volatile and the debt limit debate still stinging, U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) was aiming to put a focus back on job creation last Wednesday. Cris said, "How much of that dollar gets siphoned off?" Historically, for every budget that Schakowsky & Kirk vote for, IL gets back $1 from Washington for every $1.33 that we send, the other $0.33 goes to subsidize other states.
