The Workout: A Summer Olympics Training Program

Even those of us who aren't competing in London need to get ready for The Games.

Last week, I wrote about training plans for runners who are planning to do late summer or fall races. This week, however, I'd like to highlight a different kind of training, one that requires immediate attention because the opening ceremonies are less than a week away. Yes, it's time to employ the London Olympics Spectator Training Program. Training your eyes The first task is to get your eyes ready. The last thing you want is to be confused while watching the Track and Field finals because you can't tell which athletes represent which countries. Take a moment to sit down in front of your television and turn on one of those irritating cable news networks. If the “BREAKING NEWS” looks blurry, then you'll never be able to see the tiny "USA" …

His style is very unique, has a great flow, incorporates your whole body/breath and his videos are great quality/easy to watch and follow along. Seven New Trier Swimmers Qualify for Olympic Trials

The students and alums from New Trier Township High School District 203 will be competing for a spot to represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Information provided by New Trier High School and written by Samuel Nadell. Three current and four former swimmers from New Trier High School have qualified for the 2012 Olympic Team Trials that will take place from June 25 to July 2 in Omaha, Neb. The seven swimmers are Sam Metz (Class of 2010), CJ Smith (’11), Max Grodecki (’12), Reed Malone (’13), Jack Mangan (’13), Samantha James (’12) and Riley Hayward (’13). “I was pretty excited because it’s such a privilege. It’s something that a lot of swimmers work towards in their swimming careers and so it's a pretty big accomplishment. But, it’s also a privilege to get this opportunity,” said Smith, who swims at the University of Minnesota and will be competing in the 400 and 1500 meter …
