Suburban Boy Killed In Baseball Accident Mourned
A 12 year-old boy from Oswego died after being struck by a baseball during warm-ups.
A 12-year-old boy from the southwest suburbs died from head trauma after being struck by a baseball. An autopsy Saturday by the Cook County Medical examiner determined Eric Lederman died from bleeding in the brain after being hit in the head by a baseball, the Chicago Tribune reported. Lederman died Thursday night from injuries he suffered Wednesday while playing baseball for the Oswego Panthers 12U Orange traveling team. Lederman, of Oswego, was playing with the team in Wheaton when he was struck with a ball during warmups. He was a sixth-grader at Thompson Junior High, said Kristine Liptrot, District 308 director of communications.
