Adoption Information - Heartland's cat adoption fee of $100 includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, deworming, FIV/Feline Leukemia test, and a microchip.  Kitten adoption fees are slightly higher and reduced rates are often offered for special needs cats. Heartland's dog adoption fee of $225 includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter, deworming, Heartworm test, and a microchip.  Puppy adoption fees are slightly higher and reduced rates are often offered for special needs dogs. Heartland Animal Shelter, at 2975 Milwaukee Avenue in Northbrook, is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 p.m.  More animals available for adoption can be found at www.heartlandanimalshelter.net.

Addison is a gorgeous 3-year-old Maine Coon mix who is very content to lie at your side and be petted. She's sweet and friendly and loves to watch the birds out the window. Recently, she had a litter of three kittens. She also readily accepted a stray and raised all the kittens together. She's a tidy kitty who keeps the area around her food very clean and always uses her litter box. Now that her motherly duties are behind her, she longs to be pampered in a forever home. Are you looking for a cat that just adores people? Well then come meet your "purrfect" match in Evette! This petite 2 year old is a tortoiseshell cat. She's a real sweetheart and loves attention and being petted. Evette came to Heartland from Feral Felines. When they found her and discovered how nice she was they brought her to us. Evette prefers the company of people and would likely do best in a home where she could have your undivided attention without any other pets.   RUSH- If you're looking for a cat to cuddle in your lap, then Rush is your "purrfect" match. This beautiful and sleek all-black cat is about 3 years old as of October 2011. He was found wandering the streets of Northbrook and brought to Heartland. From his first day at the shelter, he was as content as could be. He loves nothing more than to get nice and comfy in your lap and then gaze up into your eyes. He likes being brushed, too. Rush is definitely an easygoing and gentle cat. PAPOO is a sweet 9-year-old Rat Terrier mix who has lots of love to go around!  He really enjoys going out for nice spring walks with all of the Heartland volunteers.  Papoo is a very mellow and friendly guy who would love to find his forever home.
